Meet the Editorial & Advisory Team

Barbara Morgan, Editor

Originally trained as a Gestalt Psychotherapist, Barbara has been working with Constellations since 1997, one year after the Founder, Bert Hellinger first came to England. Her experience of the work has been personally transformative and as best she can, Barbara ‘walks her talk’. She sees Family Constellations as a way of life and her pursuit of ‘truth’ as far as that is ever possible, leads to a deep commitment to the work she does. Second only to family, it is her guiding passion. She is currently training people in the UK and offers Advanced Training in both the UK and Romania. She runs regular workshops online and in person in the UK and Ireland. She works with individuals in Bath (Somerset, UK) or online.

Her role as Editor of The Knowing Field began in 2004 when she took over from Barbara Stones and Jutta ten Herkel. Within a year, she changed the name, doubled the size of the journal and the frequency of publication. As Editor, she is privileged to have access to the latest developments in the work worldwide and is fascinated by the progress Constellation Work is making across the globe. She is Author of Coming Home: A First step into the world of Family Constellations, and three books under the umbrella title: Reflections on Motherhood. Vol I (The Birth Process) has already been published and Vol II (A Different Path for the Soul) will be available in the Summer of 2021. Vol III will hopefully follow in 2022.

ABI EVA, editing assistant

Abi has been working as Barbara’s admin assistant since 2017 and is therefore immersed in the world of Constellations, but from a relative outsider’s point of view. A large part of her role is to assist with editing and proofreading articles for the journal and maintaining the website. She has a growing interest in personal development and wellbeing and is combining this role with that of a Health and Wellbeing Coach. She feels honoured to have what is often the first glance at the plentiful supply of interesting and thought-provoking articles that are contributed.

Lindiwe Mthembu-Salter - advisory team member

Lindiwe is a trained Family Constellations Facilitator, currently based in Cape Town. Her previous training was centred on an Integrative Humanistic counselling approach. She also provides various therapeutic approaches such as holistic energy work and life coaching.

For nearly 22 years, she has been working with individuals and groups within various NGO/NPOs in South Africa, and Burundi providing trauma counselling that also integrate Systematic Constellations. Her skills include working with groups of home-based caregivers and individual healthcare workers where she facilitates self-care programmes or tailor-made self-care interventions that include ways of dealing with occupational hazards of stress or ‘burn-out’. Her work brings an insight that encompasses the richness of her African indigenous healing modalities, which are grounded in the sacred wisdom of Ukulungisa (Z) which means ‘to create balance and harmony’ for emotional resilience. In 2017 at the ACE (African Constellations Experience) event, she co-facilitated a ritual that honoured and embraced the Family Constellations ancestries from Zulu cultural lineage.

Her other interests include writing about her Zulu culture. In 2001 she wrote a book called, Call me by my Name which is a collection of more than 2000 Xhosa, Zulu, Swazi and Ndebele names (Mthembu-Salter, Kwela Books, 2021). It is very important for her to reawaken respect of African names as she extended her knowledge of her culture by documenting meanings behind chosen themes on naming called ukwetha - in Zulu.
